I Don’t Use AI to Hustle

This morning, before the kids woke up, I made my AG1 and opened my laptop—not to race through a to-do list, but to get clear on what mattered today.

I opened my Notes app and spoke out loud everything on my mind. Naturally, it was more than anyone could fit into a single day—but getting it out of my head instantly created space.

From there, I took the transcript and asked AI to clean it up, organise it by category and assignee. My shoulders dropped. I could see, clearly, what needed to happen today and what could wait. In this way, I am so grateful for the invention of this technology.

Why I Don’t Pile on the Apps

There are endless AI tools out there promising to make us faster, better, more productive. I’ve tried many. But the truth? If I try to use them all, I end up fragmented and overwhelmed.

Instead, I’ve found that the real magic happens when I’m intentional:

  • Picking the right tool for the right purpose

  • Letting it replace a mental load, not add another layer of complexity

  • Closing the laptop and moving on, instead of tweaking forever

It’s less “hack everything” and more work in harmony with my own pace.

AI as a Collaborator, Not a Driver

I think of AI as a collaborator that works with me—not as something that’s constantly pushing me to do more.

Some days, that means:

  • Using Motion AI to quietly arrange my day so I can focus on deep work without checking the clock

  • Asking ChatGPT to draft an outline so I’m not stuck at a blank page

  • Letting Gemini organise my scattered notes into something I can actually work from

Rhythm Over Rushing

In my bodywork practice, I’ve learned that nothing opens under constant pressure—whether it’s the nervous system, a tight muscle, or a workday.

AI can be part of that rhythm: a tool to help me drop into flow faster, to create without force, and to protect my attention for the things that matter most.

If You Want to See My Full Setup

I keep a short, curated list of the AI tools I use regularly—the ones that actually lighten my load and give me more space for life.

A Question for You:

When you think about using AI, are you trying to speed up—or to work with more ease?

If it’s the latter, you might find that less really is more.
